1. Overview

Event Extractor ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our Chrome Extension.

Summary: We do not sell your data. We do not store your files. We only process your PDFs to extract event information and save it to your Google Calendar.

2. Data We Collect

We collect and process the following types of data solely for the purpose of functionality:

Authentication Data: We access your Google email address and User ID via Google OAuth2 to verify your identity and prevent unauthorized access to our API.
User Content: When you upload a PDF (syllabus or schedule), the text content of that file is temporarily processed by our system.

3. How We Use Your Data

AI Processing: The text from your uploaded PDF is sent to our secure backend and then to Google's Gemini API for analysis. This is strictly to extract dates and summaries.
Google Calendar: We use your authentication token to create events on your Google Calendar at your explicit request.

4. Data Retention

We do not store your data.

Once your PDF is processed and the events are returned to you, the text content is discarded from our server's memory. We do not maintain a database of user files, events, or personal information.

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services:

Google Gemini API: Used for text analysis.
Google OAuth & Calendar API: Used for login and event creation.
Render: Used to host our backend services.
